Beritaterheboh.com - Seorang profesor asal Australia, Tim Lindsey, menyampaikan protes kepada tim hukum Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno yang mengutip artikelnya dalam berkas gugatan sengketa Pilpres 2019 ke Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK). Ia mengatakan dirinya tidak pernah menyebut Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) otoriter.
"Artikel yang saya tulis membahas soal kesulitan politik yang dihadapi Jokowi pada tahun 2017. Saya tidak pernah mengatakan Jokowi otoriter seperti klaim tim hukum Prabowo. Saya juga tidak pernah sebutkan ada kecurangan dalam pemilu," kata Tim Lindsey, Sabtu (15/6/2019).

Ia menjelaskan artikelnya tentang Jokowi itu ditulis pada tahun 2017. Lindsey menyebut tim hukum Prabowo-Sandi menggunakan artikelnya di luar konteks, sehingga tidak bisa menjadi referensi bagi argumen mereka dalam sidang sengketa Pilpres 2019. Selain itu, kata Lindsey, tim hukum Prabowo tidak meminta izin untuk mengutip artikelnya.
"Mereka tidak pernah membicarakannya dengan saya dan tidak pernah meminta izin menggunakan artikel saya. Saya tidak ada urusannya dengan kasus yang dihadapi Prabowo," ujarnya.

My article was NOT written about these elections. It was written in 2017.
Prabowo's legal team included a quote from my article in their petition that was (1) clearly taken out of context, (2) contained emphasis (bolding, underlining etc) that was NOT in the original, and (3) does NOT support the argument they say it supports.
In my article, I was simply discussing the political predicament Jokowi was facing in 2017. I did NOT say in the article that Jokowi was authoritarian, as Prabowo's legal team claim, and I did NOT say there would be fraud in the elections.
Prabowo's legal team did NOT discuss their use of my article with me, and they did NOT seek my agreement or approval. I had nothing to do with the preparation of Prabowo's case.
Jokowi's legal team have reviewed my article. They announced publicly through Arsul Sani, a member of Jokowi's team, that the article does not say the things Prabowo's team claim that it says. They agree that I have been misquoted/misrepresented by Prabowo's Legal Team.
